My applications are not side projects. They are the instruments through which I test whether an idea about learning survives contact with a classroom.
There is a version of educational research that studies classrooms from the outside. There is another version that intervenes, observes what breaks, and revises. I work in the second.
The loop
A teaching problem produces a research question. The question produces a prototype. The prototype goes into a live course. The course produces evidence and, more often, a list of things I got wrong. Then it iterates.
Why building matters
Building forces specificity. You cannot ship 'increase engagement'; you have to decide whether the question box is anonymous, whether upvotes are visible, and what happens when nobody posts. Those decisions are the theory, expressed in a form that can actually be tested.
